Barack Obama Foundation which is widely known as Obama Foundation has rolled out an initiative termed The Obama Foundation Africa Leaders Program targeting at the young and innovative African youths across the continent.
What is Obama Foundation?
The Obama Foundation Leaders with its initiative seeks to encourage young emerging leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to integrity, clearly show potential for impact, and are at earlier stages of their journey.
Aims and Objectives of The Obama Foundation
The Obama Foundation Africa Leaders Program main aims and objectives is geared towards building an ever growing network of innovative and ethical change-makers, who earnestly yearn to drive positive change in their respective communities. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to integrity, clearly show potential for impact, and are zealous to stay engaged with the Obama Foundation throughout the year and beyond. We are much more interested in talented individuals who are on the right trajectory at earlier stages of their journey, as well as those who have already attained success.
To be ACCEPTED into The Obama Foundation Africa Leaders Program 2019, you must meet the following criteria.
- Candidate must be a Citizen of an African country
- Candidate should have a strong command in English language (verbal and written)
- Eligible candidates are expected to be between the age of 24 to 40 year
- Candidate must be a resident of any African country (though it is ACCEPTED to reside in an African country other than the country of your birth)
Benefit of Obama Foundation Leaders Program
The benefits of the Obama Foundation Leaders Program is immense and covers some of the major expenses such as airfare, ground transport in South Africa, and shared dormitory accommodation. Candidates are responsible to cover minor expenses such as Passport acquisition and obtaining a South African visa.
Candidate who make the cut as Obama Foundation Africa Leaders will automatically become members of a dedicated and self-sustaining of change-makers.
Leaders are committed to endless learning and mentoring through in-person gathering.
Selected candidates will need to be in Johannesburg, South Africa from July 10 through July 15, 2019.
Participant are required to participate in an online and virtual programming activities throughout the program year. This activities includes accountability group meetings, interactive webinars, peer reviews of action plans, and discussions around the values-based leadership and challenges faced by ethical leaders.
